layer selected, click the Insert Layer icon, and name the new layer Cellphone. [View full size image] Changing the Appearance of the Timeline You can adjust the Timeline's appearance to accommodate your workflow. When you want to see more layers, select Short from the Frame View pop-up menu in the upper-right corner of the Timeline. The Short command decreases the height of frame cell rows. You can also change the width of the frame cells by selecting Tiny, Small, Normal, Medium, or Large. [View full size image]   Placing Assets on Layers All of the assets for this project were originally imported to the Stage, arranged on the Assets layer. You'll move them from the Assets layer to the appropriate layers. 1. Select the Assets layer. All of the objects on the Assets layer are selected. Click outside the Stage to deselect them. 2. Holding down the Shift key, select the flower, floor, table, and wallpaper images on the Stage. 3. Choose Edit > Cut. 4. Select the Background layer, and choose Edit > Paste In Place. 5. Hide the Background layer by clicking the dot beneath the eye icon. 6. Repeat steps 1-4 to move the battery from the Assets layer to the Low Batt layer, in the Text And Battery folder. 7. Repeat steps 1-4 to move the graphic of the cellphone and hand from the Assets layer to the Cellphone layer. (The graphic is on the pasteboard beneath the Stage; scroll down to see it.) Deleting a Layer You may work with some layers temporarily, using them to store assets, or to test effects. To keep the Timeline tidy, delete layers you no longer need. Because the Assets layer is now empty, you can safely delete it. 1. Select the Assets layer. 2. Click the Delete Layer icon. () 3. Show the Background layer again to reveal its contents. Moving an Object on the Timeline The battery shouldn't appear on the Stage until much later in the animation, so you'll move it from frame 1 to frame 199 in the Timeline. 1. Select the keyframe on frame 1 of the Low Batt layer. 2. Drag the keyframe to frame 199. Not sure which frame you've selected The current frame number is shown in the bar beneath the Timeline.
