You'll use shape tweens to morph a puff of smoke into the letter O in the word Out. To apply shape tweening to groups, instances, or bitmap images, you must first break the elements apart. Setting Up the Initial Object You'll create a cloud and animate it to move to the position where it will morph into the letter O. 1. Select the Cloud Morph layer, and then select the cloud graphic on the pasteboard. 2. Choose Edit > Cut. 3. Select frame 136 of the Cloud Morph layer, and press F7 to insert a blank keyframe. 4. Choose Edit > Paste In Place. 5. Select the Show As Outlines icon () for the Cloud Morph layer. The cloud is outlined on the pasteboard, so that you can see objects behind it. Select the cloud graphic on the pasteboard and move it so that it covers and is centered above the O in the word Out. To move an outlined object, you must click on the outline itself. 8. Deselect the Show As Outlines icon for the Cloud Morph layer. 9. Select frame 136 of the Cloud Morph layer, and then press Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) and drag it to frame 132 to create a duplicate keyframe. 10. Select frame 132, and then select the cloud graphic. In the Transform panel, set the width and height to 20%, and press Enter or Return. In the Property inspector, select Brightness from the Color menu, and select 100%. Press Enter or Return to apply the values.
